Sally Hansen Cuticle Remover: User Experience & Potential Damage

Question
Hi, I used "Problem Cuticle Remover" from Sally Hanson on my nails.

The problem was I used it as a moisterizer and didn't read the instructions. It
says to wash off immediately after 8 minutes. What I did was applied it and
then reapplied it at least 3-4 times I just put it on and rubbed it all over the
cuticles and tips of my fingers. I had some dry cuticles. So it is totally my fault
but what my question is my fingers were worse after applying the cream.
They were peeling for days and were irrated to say the least. Can a cuticle
cream do that if it's not rinsed off?

Thank you.

Answer
Dear Marla,

it was pretty irresponsible of you to use a product without reading the instructions first, but I guess that was one good lesson so not to do it again!
There are product in order to moisturize your cuticles as creams for hand and nails, certain oils for the cuticles and others...
A remover does exactly what it says... it removes! So it is quite logical the result you had with all the peeling...
Not all cuticles removers are made to be rinsed off but for sure we do not use them more than once each time we are having or giving a manicure and only in hands that look really bad!
I hope you have visited a pharmacy store so to get something for your fingernails.
Thank for asking me, wishing I've answered your question.
