Triadene & Unprotected Sex: What Are My Risks?

Question
Hello - I've been on Tricyclen for 5 years and recently moved to the UK where I got a perscription for Triadene (both oral contraceptives, 21 days on hormones, 7 days on placebos).  I had one month in between the two pills while I was waiting for the perscription and during this time me and my partner had unprotected sex.  Oops.  Only once while ovulating though.  I know it only takes once...... any way I was 2 weeks late for my period and took two pregnancy tests.  Both were negative.  I took one yesterday (5 weeks late on my period) and it was positive.  I'm curious whether I could have a false positive because I switched drugs, or perhaps because I was on the pill for 5 years and suddenly went off and maybe it shocked my system into thinking it was pregnant?  What is the likelihood, do you know?  I am getting checked by my doctor in a week and a half but if you have any input or advice it would be MUCH appreciated...

Thank you!

Answer
Hi Sarah,
Thanks for sending me your question. I'm not a medical doctor so please consult your physician. It's possible to have a false negative but perhaps you could go to a pregnancy help center. I'm not sure if they have UK listed on this website. http://www.optionline.org
Just check it out and see or look up pregnancy help centers in UK. If you don't mind, please email me at DCHERYL51@yahoo.com and let me know what you find out.
Thanks.
