Pancreatitis & Alcohol Abuse: Understanding the Risks and Your Options

My boyfriend was diagnosed with pancreatitis in Feb. He's 32 and has drank every day for the past 10 years. Hasn't had a solid bowel movement in 10 yrs also. I have been told he could die if he keeps drinking. He wants to start drinking again. I'm not sure what to do. He was in so much pain when he was diagnosed. How serious is this and what could happen if he doesn't stop?

if he has been this sick and still wants to drink, then you should save yourself and leave the relationship.  Unless he gets treatment for his alcoholism, this is going to end badly..... I realize this is harsh advice but he will either become chronically ill or die from this and drag you down with him.
