Tetanus Shot After Nail Puncture: What You Need to Know
Question I stepped on a nail which was protruding from a board..Question is should I get a tetanus shot? and if so how long can I wait befor getting the shot.. It has been around three years since my last shot for tetanus . I treated myself immediatly with tobacco and then about two hours later I poured proxide on the wound and soaked my foot in epsom salt for about one hour. I am asking for your advise on which step I should take from this point . I thank you for any assistance that you give me....Frank
Answerif you had a tetanus shot 3 years ago, then you don't need a tetanus shot. Just look for increased pain, redness or drainage... but you are covered as far as tetanus. If any of the above happens, then you need to go see your doctor....
hope this helps...
