Persistent Abdominal Pain & Frequent Urination: Possible Causes & Next Steps

Question
For the past 3 months I have been back and fourth to my gyno. I've had some abdominal discomfort (more on th right side, sometimes feeling it going down right leg), also I feel the need to pee often. The first time I went I was diagnosed with a bacterial infection. I took the meds, felt great, got my peroid on time. Directly after my peroid (I was still spotting) I got the symptoms again. Went to the dr. Tests showed no infection. Next month was the same thing, went back to dr. test showed another bacterial infection. I was given a vagional suppoitory, which helped. 5 days after taking that I had to start taking boric acid capsules, vagianally, 3 days a week for 3 months to get my system back on track. Today my peroid is almost over and the symptoms are returning- peeing often, ab discomfort. Do I give myself time to heal, or could this be something my dr. is not seeing. This isn't a UTI. Please help. Thanks so much.

Answer
abdominal/pelvic pain in a woman is so hard to sort out sometimes.  There are so many things that can interact to cause problems.  The key is to evaluate simple things and treat them if needed.  A vaginal bacterial infection does not cause abd pain.  A UTI could.  other possibilities include a uterus infection, pregnancy, ovary cysts, scar tissue from previous surgery, fibroids (muscular tumors in the uterus)    Urinating often sounds like a UTI or possibly repeat vaginitis (bacterial or yeast)   As long as the urine is normal and there is no vaginal discharge, I would wait to see if it goes away.

hope this helps...
