Small Intestine Blockage After J-Pouch Surgery: Symptoms & Concerns

Question
I had my large intestine removed in 1986 at the age of 16.  I had reconstructive surgery and I have a J-pouch.  I think I had my first obstruction.  I had carrots the night before and by the next night I was in the worst pain and I was vomiting.  It really scared me.  I've always been able to take care of it myself.  I still don't feel that great and my intestine still hurts.  Yes I can feel everything.  From horrible gas to it literally moving through....Thank you for any help

Answer
that is what it sounds like.... scar tissue kinks the intestine and things can block temporarily... this is a surgical emergency and you need to go to the hospital when it happens... you may not get operated on... usually we try nasal gastric suction initially...
