Positive ANA 1:640 & New Symptoms: Lupus or Other Condition?

Question
I have had a positive ANA 1:640 speckled pattern for several years but it has always been attributed to me having hashimoto's and vitiligo. A lupus workup several yrs ago was negative. Recently,I have been experiencing joint pain but no swelling. Over the last several days, I have noticed a red like rash on my face-my cheeks and nose. Just wondering if I should see the rheumatologist again or just wait and see what happens. I also have had increased sensitivity to cold in my fingers. It is very painful to handle something cold like ice etc. But my fingers do not change colors- just very sensitive .
Thank you for your help.

Answer
these blood tests are very strange... they don't indicate disease, they only suggest.... and you had a moderately high level... with the joint pain, assuming you are young, and an unexplained facial rash, this could be a lupus flare, theoretically, and is worth a visit to your primary doc, at least.... good luck with it...
