Abdominal Pain, Low Platelets & White Blood Cell Count: Seeking Medical Advice

Question
Hi Catherine
Thank you for responding so quickly.
No, I have never been tested for Lyme Disease.
I live in Trinidad, just off Venezuela. I spend time each year or so with my friends in Miami.
This has been going on for many years as I said before.
Shortly I shall be visiting a doctor regarding the abdominal painds and then continuing investigations of the low platelets and lowinsh White Blood Cell count with another doctor.
After the episode last week I am now back to feeling close to normal and ready to resume work and exercise.

Question: Can fatigue be the cause?
Since I have "0" testosterone and it has reached this point over the past 20 years ...having had mumps and orchitis in 1984....maybe my body takes action when I push myself too far.
I used to play soccer 5 evenings a week, now I swim 5 days a week, do the gym 3-4 times and dance latin 3-4 times plus other activities after work on evenings.
I never feel tired really until ....the flu comes in a few months.
Do you needs any other data.

Francis

-----Question-----
I am male, 56 yrs, play many sports and am generally fit. Work in office. I had mumps ar 40 and orchitis resulted. Maybe other glands damaged? Family...low platelets..count 74. My BP 100/70. WBC on the low side of normal. Every 2 months or so I get tired and may get fever and feel tired with body pains, or I get the flu or something like it, or a 15 min chill/shivering followed by fever and tender abdomen as in an infection.It varies.
Blood test results show only slightly weak immune system as possibility. Pursuing blood work on platelets.
Any ideas? Happening for 20 years and only recently I sought doctors advice. Previously treated for flu etc. It was thought I was just a weak fella.
Please....

francis;

have a question,have you ever been tested for Lyme disease?

catherine;

Answer
francis;

well for sure there is something going on. now i dont think its lyme disease,due to where you live. but some- thing is going on.

well i have a few more question for you;

have you been tested for HIV? sorry but i need to ask;

how about your bone marrow-[the soft tissue in the hollow shafts of the long bones]is a key component of your immune system. it produces white blood cells called lymphocytes,which are essential components.

another important part of the immune system is the spleen[a fist-sized organ in your upper left abdomen].

i wish i could do more for you. i will be still looking for a reason.
