Postpartum D&C Recovery: Symptoms, Timeline & When to Worry

> I had a D&C done November 25, 2008 (  i was 6-7 weeks along). I felt perfectly fine for 4 days after no spotting or cramping. And since then i have been bleeding/spotting and cramping( mostly in my lower back and lower pelvic area, much the same as period cramps) on and off. One day i'll feel great and then next i'll have all the same symptoms. I went for my first check up post D&C 1 week after the procedure and the Dr. said everything seemed fine (she did a urine test). I went back to see my DR. again on the 15h of Dec, as i was still having all the same symptoms. Yesterday i didn't spot or bleed all day and today it's started up all over again.She put me on antibiotics just incase of infection (Clindamycin). I am starting to feel frustrated and tired of feeling sick. I am wondering if my symptoms are "normal".? It's been 3 weeks since the D&C. :(. Also, i really havent had to wear a pad of any sort it only comes out when i urinate! and the last few days i will bleed one day and not the next and today i am not bleeding again! I am just so confused as to what my body is actually doing?!?

Hi Ashley,

I just found your question in the question pool and I know it's been awhile. Whoever you were asking your question of, they were evidently not able to answer and so put it into the pool for others to browse. Please let me know if the same situation is still occurring. It could be dangerous to have excessive bleeding but I have been getting lots of questions about bleeding. So I think it's becoming more common.
