Influenza Treatment: Understanding Antiviral Medications & Over-the-Counter Options

How well will the over the counter anti-viral medications (Such as Zicam) work against the scary bird flu now in Asia? I have personal experience with Zicam and it seemed very effective against several coldsFlus I have contracted in the last couple of years. It has always knocked the coldsFlus down to a week of the sniffles when other people in my office are out for days on end.

I hate to burst bubbles, but Zicam is worthless in this setting (and in most settings)   Bird Flu, if it does ever jump species and have humans infecting humans would not respond in the least to Zicam.  It is theorized that the antiflu medications like Tamiflu would help.  However, bird flu, very rare, only chickens to stupid people.... so it won't become an epidemic.
