Questionwhat is allfen cx for
AnswerHi Mary Lou,
Allfen Cx is a medication duo, one part for loosening up mucous, and one part for cough suppression. It is used for illness, such as sinus infections, bronchitis, common cold. It is NOT for chronic coughs, such as smoker's cough.
The guanefesin component loosens up the mucous making it easier to cough. It is used in Robitussin, Humabid, etc. Very common ingredient.
Do not chew or crush this medication. Be sure and take with a full glass of water, and unless you have a health condition that limits fluid intake, take a lot of fluids. That will also help loosen and thin mucus.
Side effects are mostly rare and minor: nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain, drowsiness and dizziness. I don't mean those symptoms are minor, just that they don't occur often.
I hope this was of help to you. If I didn't answer your question to your satisfaction, please do not hesitate to contact me.
