Persistent Cough & Fatigue: Potential Causes & What to Do
QuestionHello thanks for taking the time to look at this question.
I'm a 21 year old male who has been suffering from a chesty throaty cough for about 3 years now intermittently (it goes away for 2 weeks and then is back). I am always in a state of tiredness despite getting a good 10 hours of sleep on a regular routine. I don't smoke and my alcohol consumption is about 6 units a week, my diet is less than satisfactory but not terrible ( I get some veg and fruit and don't live off junk food)
I just wanted to know if there could be any underlying conditions. Whenever I go to a doctor I get put on a course of antibiotics which does little to help
Again thank you for taking the time to read this
Kind Regards
Byron
Answerif you are not getting fevfer, it is not infection. Get a PEFR and a spirometry test done to know the status of your lungs and to rule out asthma. I dont think you get proper excercise . Do jogging/running/brisk walking at least alternate days for half an hour. it will increase your immunity. then consult a internal medicine specialist at a medical school hospital if the problem remains.
