Evening Ear Pressure & Throat Congestion: Causes & Relief

Hi,

My question is every evening when the sun goes down my ears stop up and I start getting congestion in my throat. It feels like I can't clear my throat and have to cough and cough to get the congestion out. It takes awhile but most of the time it goes away but then the muscles of my throat feel soar and hurt.

Lately when I lay down flat I get a tickle in my throat and have to cough to get it out. It feels as if something is running down my throat and coating it. Could this be just sinus drip or something more serious. I am 54 years old 180 lbs and generally good health. Your response is appreciated.

Also wanted to mention I have been having issues with anxiety lately . Could this be connected somehow? Thanks in advance. Michael

I don't see a connection with anxiety unless you are self treating with a lot of sudafed.  It sounds like you might have a house dust allergy.... try getting some cheap pillow and mattress covers (very sheer plastic with zippers... wal mart, K mart has them and that can isolate a lot of the house dust mite stuff that sometimes causes these symptoms....
