Child's White Stools & Vomiting: Urgent Medical Advice

Question
My 15 month old granddaughter and her mom are in Russia and soon after arriving, and eating a pear, she started having white stools and white, curd-like emesis. They have no antibiotics with them and apparently she is having diarrhea. Any suggestions? My daughter in law is Russian so can maybe get some thing but she doesn't trust the medicines there.

Answer
I would absolutely +not wait+ to get to a doctor with white stools/vomiting in a child that age.  No matter the distrust in the russian system, I'd get her to a doctor.  Babies can get dehydrated so fast.  Pediatricians worry about white, black or red stools.  Could be gallbladder, could be something else, but the concern is more that she doesn't become dehydrated, then figuring out the cause.  She may need IV fluids.  I would tell your daughter in law that they don't have any better choice than going to a doctor there.  They can't just treat that at home, not with a child that age--too risky, health status changes too fast.
Please let me know how it turned out.
