Understanding Tongue Bumps After Tonsillectomy: Causes & Relief
QuestionHello, I have these rather strange bumps on the back of my tongue, i can't see them because they are too far back but i can feel them with my finger. They are VERY tender and make it extremely hard to swallow. Strangely it is concentrated to the right side. My tonsils have been removed so i would guess that eliminated strep? thanks for the help(:
AnswerYou could still have strep without tonsils. But, often someone gets a sore throat and notices bumps back there that have been there... the tongue structure has a lot of different things in it and is pretty irregular. If you have trouble swallowing, throat pain and any fever, get it looked at as far as strep, but otherwise, it should get better on it's own.
