Persistent Sensation of Something Stuck in Throat: Causes & Relief
QuestionI am a 27 year old male. For the past few months I have had the feeling of something stuck on the left side of my throat. It feels like it's on the back side of my tonsil or just above it. The feeling will appear but then subside only to return a few days later. It's driving me nuts. My tonsils are large and the left one has always been slightly larger. I have had tonsil stones but I haven't seen any recently and this is definately not visible. I do smoke about 8 cigarettes a day and have been for about 7 years. Sometimes it feels jagged and other times just feels like rubbing. I feel fine in all other aspects. Any idea?
AnswerThis is usually caused by some type of allergies..... the cigarettes are probably the biggest offender.... sometimes using some saline nasal spray twice a day "washes" the nasal tissue and can make that go away.... it may take a week of treatment. The cigs have a ton of different harsh chemicals that irritate that area also.
