QuestionI have one of these on my back.
Doctor gave me antibiotics which are almost finished but this thing is getting bigger and more uncomfortable.
Some people say it will stop growing then disappear on its own, some say to get it lanced.
The thing about that is you have to change the dressing daily, get it stitched. I cant change the dressing myself because of where it is, and I am a long haul trucker so I am not going to ask a stranger!
Will it eventually disappear?
Answersome small ones go away, small meaning less than 1 centimeter. The larger ones typically have to be removed. You can try and squeeze them but if the back side of the cyst ruptures, it makes a nasty infection. We typically poke a hole in it and get the greasy material out then remove the wall of the cyst so it won't recur. If it is getting bigger, you need to have it removed.
