QuestionHello, I am a 37yr old female. I have several symptoms; every morning when I wake up I have severe pain in my lower right back. It seems somewhat relieved when I get up for awhile and use the restroom. I have been tested for UTI and was positive and treated with antibiotics (which I had to receive two rounds of antibiotics to treat), but the pain is still there. I have pain all the time everywhere, usually worse as soon as I wake up, and it has progressively gotten worse with time.
I recently had upper respiratory infection that turned into bronchitis that turned into pneumonia and it took three rounds of antibiotics to treat. Since that time I seem to have episodes of what feels like muscle spasm in my upper body, making it extremely hard to breathe. This will some on sudden and I usually take a nap or go to sleep and it is usually gone when I get up.
I also have numbness in my right leg and right foot.
I also recently have had a new symptom appear, my breast are so tender. Just a little touch and I recoil in pain. It started a week and a half before my cycle and went away after my third day of my cycle. Now two weeks later, it has started again. I also developed a rash on my inner thighs that will not go away. I have treated it with antibiotic cream, diaper rash cream and now lotruim. The reason I name all these issues is I am not sure if they are related.
I have seen several doctors over the years and no one can seem to find out what is causing my pain. I was diagnosed several years ago with a PE in my right lung, which stemmed from a Factor IV Leiden mutation. I was on warfarin for two years with several side effects from the medicine. It caused me to have vomiting, extreme headaches every day, digestive problems, bloody noses, bloody stools, diziness, and overall a feeling of overall bad. My doctor decided that because the drug was so invasive in my life I need to be taken off. Which I did 4 months ago, all symptoms have gotten much better. Of course, I just have to hope I don't develop another blood clot.
I know this was kind of drawn out, but I want to be clear on what my symptoms are.
What do I need to do? I have trouble finding the right doctor, and can't seem to get one to listen to all my issues. I think they are all related somehow. I look heathly, so I am not sure.
Answerwell, you do have a lot of issues.... it is tough to sort them all out.
I would be very worried about the recurrence of blood clots. Coumadin caused the bloody nose, bloody stools, but I doubt whether it is causing the other side effects. I would talk to your doctors or a hematologist about your future risks of PE's as those can easily be fatal.
The low back pain has been going on for years accd to your note.... it is unlikely that it is from a disease in a particular organ and much more likely, it is musculoskeletal.... If you haven't had an MRI of that area, you should. If you have and there is no structural problem that requires surgery, then I would move towards other treatments.... possibly steroid injections to that area. Another very good alternative treatment would bbe acupuncture to help.... I have seen it do wonders in these situations.
