QuestionHi!
Whenever I eat white bread, potatoes, rice or pasta I get bloated up and tired, nauseous the next morning, and I gain weight if I eat like this for a few days, even if I dont eat many calories.
If I eat low carb I feel a lot better and can eat more without gaining weight.
I know that you can lose weight eating low carb, but for me I now think thats the only way I can eat!
Is this a form of IBS?
The only other thing I can find is 'carbohydrate intolerance'.
I asked a doctor friend and he said there was no such thing as carbohydrate intolerance as all cultures need either rice or bread as a staple food.
So why does rice or bread make me sick?
I can eat high fibre stuff like bran flakes and multi grain bread OK.
Thanks!
AnswerErnie,
This is a complex problem. Have you seen a gastroenterologist? Can you tell me more about your health condition. Age, weight, medical problem, medications, general health, etc. Any surgeries, review of systems (ie, HA, diarrhea, rash, etc.)
I offer tele medicine consultations for those with elaborate medical problems, that cannot be dealt with in this forum. www.saleeby.net for more info.
