QuestionA what point is a migraine dangerous? I've been having migraines since high school and lately they've been getting worse. I've been on all different types of medication and used home remedies. I just want to I know if there is a point where it can be really life threatening. The doctors that I've seen don't really seem to answer me when I ask.
AnswerAnytime the pattern changes, it is worth having the big picture re-evaluated. It is really rare, but migraines, especially the ones with the aura... the symptoms that occur before the headache begins (flashing lights, blind spots, etc)can be dangerous. But again, those problems are really really rare. Usually, it is just the headache pain that is so disabling. But if your pattern has changed, it is likely that something can be done to at least, improve them.
