QuestionI'm a 20 year old male in good health and I've been taking Concerta regularly for about 10 years (I currently take 54mg/day). I've never really experienced loss of appetite (which my doctor told me I might), but I've noticed that if I skip the pill for a day, I become insatiably hungry. Has the pill somehow effected my metabolism?
AnswerDear Adam,
I was unable to find that missing a dose of Concerta may increase your appetite.
Mostly, what I found is that you get the loss of appetite when taking Concerta.
I am sorry I couldn't give you any information about why it seems you are ravenous when you miss a dose.
As always, I recommend that all patients followup with their physicians for any concerns.
If there is anything ever I can help you with--hopefully, I would have more information than this time---please don't hesitate to let me know.
Best wishes,
Andrea
