Abdominal Aortic Fusiform Ectasia: Causes, Symptoms & What to Expect

Question
QUESTION: Please explain what this is?

ANSWER: abdominal aorta refers to the major arter in the abdomen... fusiform refers to an elongated segment and ectasia refers to bulging in this case, so they are referring probably to a longer abdominal aneurysm, a stretching of the aorta.  This is a fairly common occurrence, and not a problem until it starts growing past about 3 cm's.

Answer
hat is a little out of my league as far as what should be done.  The minimum that should be done is a repeat examination in 6 months.... so it is time at least to have it re-evaluated.  But the ordering physician should at least run that by a vascular surgeon to see what treatment, if any, should be provided.
