QuestionMy problem is excessive bleeding during the periods after delivery.
Here is the background:
I had a baby boy on 3rd Feb. After that, I had light bleeding for around 22 days and after that it became very heavy and kept increasing day by day.
We consulted our doctor and I was given hormonal cum contraceptive tablets. The bleeding stopped with those tables. But the tablets come in 21 days circles and when I stop taking those tablets I got the periods again with very excessive bleeding.
During the days of the periods, the amount of bleeding keeps increasing day by day for five days. After that I start a new cycle of the tablets and the bleeding stops.
This is what is happening to me since last 3 months. We did an ultra sonography and blood test, but nothing abnormal was found.
The doctor says it is due to hormonal changes, as I am feeding the baby.
My age is 29.
My question is:
How long is it going to last? It already have been 3 months that I am having excessive bleeding during periods.
Is there a way to stop it, if I approach a better / another specialist? I am getting depressed.
AnswerI would have expected this to stop by this time.... I wonder whether you could have a little bit of retained placenta causing the bleeding. I would talk to your OB/GYN again and explain what is happening and it might be time to have a D&C. Don't switch doctors without explaining to your doctor this situation and give them the opportunity to get you back to normal......
I hope this helps....
