Necrotic Tissue & Bone Fragments: Understanding Trauma & Treatment

Question
What happens to flesh, meat inside your body that separates from accidents or bones grinding into them?  What's the medical term for this?  Bone fragments as well and how do you fix it if it may be a problem?

Answer
Hi Richie. Thanks for your question. You must be writing a novel! Muscle mass that becomes separated from its blood supply through accident or trauma becomes necrotic tissue. Separated bone fragments may also necrose. All necrotic debris needs to be surgically excised post accident. Otherwise it will be a focus of infection  -- gangrene and/or septicemia.
I would need to have the context of where you want to use the words. Revert if you wish and good luck with the work.
