Question
Bruise
A few days ago I banged my thigh on the corner of my sin's toy chest pretty hard. I now have a yellowish/brown bruise with small purplish dots in the center if it. I am a little concerned after I googled for information and came across patechiea (sorry about the spelling). I immediately became concerned that this can be a sign of a bleeding disorder or underlying illness. My bruise is fading more and more each day along with the dots. Should I be concerned with my bruise and make an appointment with my doctor? I swear, google has turned me into a worrier :( The bruise is about 1/2 an inch.
I am a healthy 30 year old female, do not take any medications (except for vitamins), exercise daily (5"6", 125lbs), and eat vary healthy (mostly organic, low fat, mostly fruits and veggies and lean meat (fish, chicken, and turkey).
Thanks in advance,
Stephanie

Yes, that's it. Google is actually creating more work for us doctors than less! Yippie!
What you describe and depict here is the normal process and colour change expected of deep haematoma resolution. There is no need to see a doctor at this stage.
By the way, this was a significant trauma during which you would have lost quite a quantity of blood into the tissues of your thigh. If you feel a bit faint or dizzy then that too would be expected. Good luck!
