Persistent Lip Swelling After Injury: What Could It Be?

Question

the lip
On April 1 I wrecked my Vespa and the left side of my face took the brunt of it.  My lower lip was split in half and had to be stitched back together. The right side of my lip healed perfectly after a couple of weeks, but the left side is still swollen, slightly sensitive and sometimes it feels numb.  I didn't think much of it at first because like I said the left side of my face suffered the most (I only have broken bones on the left side) but now I am starting to become concerned.  Will the swelling go away eventually?  Thank you for your time and advice.

Answer
this could be scar tissue or could be a cyst (mucous retention cyst) that has developed as part of the trauma...... I would have it looked at by an ENT or plastic surgeon.... it has been a month so most acute injury swelling would have subsided..... good luck with it.....
