Sore Tongue: Causes, Symptoms & When to See a Doctor

Are there many conditions that cause the bottom of the tongue to be sore for 4 plus days? Mine has been sore on the right side bottom around the middle for as long and I am now worried I didn't simply drink something that was too hot.

glossitis is the technical term.... it could be a burn.... also, people can get ulcers in their mouth or on their tongue... usually viral, that last for 10 days... it would look kinda greyish white about 4 mm in size.  

If it doesn't go away in 2 weeks, get it looked at.
