Understanding a Small Lump on the Buttock: Causes & When to See a Doctor

I recently noticed that when I sat down I felt a little soreness on one side.  I was on vacation and really didn't think anything of it.  I felt it today and it is on the buttock right next to the vagina.  It is a pea size hard lump.  I don't know if I hit that area as it is near that bone.  I will eventually go to the Doctor if it doesn't go away.  It is not very bothersome.  Any thoughts on this?  Thank you

the pea sized lump sounds like a cyst, that may go away with baths and time....  it is hard to tell exactly where it is from your description but this could be a little bartholin's gland cyst.... if it doesn't go away, it may have to be drained..... good luck with it.
