Post-Partial Hysterectomy Recovery: Common Symptoms & What to Expect

Question
I had a partial hysterectomy 3 weeks ago. I am experiencing the following: going to the bathroom more than usual, diarrhea after every meal, fatigue, and swelling in my left knee. I also have some nights that I have some discomfort. Are these a result of the hysterectomy and will they go away over time. Also I would like to know if the endo could return?

Answer
Hi Joyce
I sure hope you are feeling alittle better. Its probably too soon to tell about how you should feel at this point. I would attribute all of the discomfort to your surgery.I am sure alot of your symptoms and pain is due to your surgery. And I would expect the majority of the discomfort to be gone very soon.
But...as far as the endo returning, yes, it can. Endo can even remain after a total hysterectomy. I have found that endo is very unforgiving...never seems to leave us. There are good articles on line with testimonials from other woman who are experiencing the same situation. But, if you have a good doctor, you can control the endo.
I wish you the best and hope you are feeling well very soon.
