QuestionDear Martha, I am 40 years old. I had a total hysterectomy a little over 2 years ago due to endo. I had a very severe case of it. 4 months after surgery I had to have another surgery to remove part of my small intestine which still had endo on it and was causing a bowel obstruction. I still struggle with low back and pelvic pain. Do you think that this is just from scar tissue or possible regrowth of the endo. I do not take hormone replacement except for a compound vaginal cream of 1% estridiol and 3% testosterone. Should I ask my doctor to give me an ultrasound to check things out?
AnswerHi Tammy
Regarding your pain...I would see my doctor, just to make sure that endo has not popped up again. One thing about endo, you never know where or what it will invade. I recently read an article, where endo was found in a womans lungs.
It would be best to check it out. Too unpredictable. I have also talked with other women who have had pain after a hyst, but have no endo.
You are still young and your body still trying to go thru the motions.
Best of luck and hope you are all clear!
Martha
