Find an Endometriosis Specialist: Expert Recommendations & Second Opinions
QuestionDear Martha,
I was diagnosed with endometriosis when I was 21 and have undergone a laporoscopy, gone through menopause with the Lupron shot, and have been on dozens of hormonal medications; all of which have not worked. My current doctor wants to give me a hysterectomy and I am only 24 and want to have children someday. Is he living in the past? A hysterectomy will NOT cure me so my question to you is can you recommend a good specialist for me to go to. I live in Wyoming and am willing to travel as long as I know I'm in good hands. I'm wanting to get another laporoscopy to see how bad the disease has spread. Thank you and have a great weekend!
Respectfully,
Casey Maunder
AnswerDear Casey
Well you have certainly covered all your bases as far as treatment thus far...I would recommend that you visit the Endometriosis Research Foundation website. They can recommend high risk physicians, fertility specialist and perhaps new treatments.
I am sorry to hear that nothing has worked for you. You obviously have a very severe case and you need attention soon.
I will also take a look at options on line for you and get back to you if I find anything worthy.
Hang in there. I hope you find relief soon.
Martha
