QuestionHi, i was reading in another question that it is normal for a female to leak the males sperm after sex, but i have been having sex with my partner for about 4 years and still have not been able to get pregnant.. my partner has had testicle cancer and has lost one.. but going back on my ex partner, him and i were together for about 6 years and i still wasn't able to fall pregnant. even tho he has had a kid before... is there something wrong with me?
AnswerHi Kara,
You don't say anything about your age or medical history, so it is hard for me to say what could be wrong. However, I can say that it is recommended that couples make an appointment with a doctor that specializes in fertility issues if they have been actively trying to become pregnant for more than one year without success. The doctor will start by checking your hormone levels to determine if you are ovulating, and can also check your partners hormone and sperm levels. This doesn't mean that there is a problem, just that these tests will give you and your doctor a better picture of what could be going on and help determine the next course of action. One thing you can try to do before you even go to the doctor is to chart your cycles:

While some women use this as a form of natural birth control, others use it to help pinpoint ovulation to increase chances of pregnancy. Your doctor can also help you start charting your cycle.
I hope this helps. If you have further questions let me know.
