QuestionI'm 18 years old, and I've been in a comitted relationship for 4 months now. We stopped using condoms after two weeks of dating, and I'm not on any form of birthcontrol. We have intercourse nearly every day, and I'm still not pregnant. My period is on time, I'm not overweight and I eat as healthy as possible. What could I possibly be doing wrong?
AnswerIf you have a normal 28 day cycle (from the first day of your period until the first day of your next period) ovulation occurs on cycle day #14 (unless your cycle is longer or shorter than 28 days). You can only become pregnant if you have sex on cycle day #13, 14, 15, or 16. Try concentrating having intercourse on those days, each month. If, after a full year you have not conceived, then you can consult a doctor and have an infertility workup (sene analysis, hysterosalpingogram, biopsy, basal body temperature). If you do get your period regularly, you probably ovulate and there should be no problem. It is merely a matter of timing and perserverence.
