Postpartum Period Irregularities: What to Expect & When to Worry

I am unsure if you can answer this question but I couldn't find anything closer to what I needed. I gave birth to our daughter 10 and a half weeks ago and my periods are irregular and by that I mean one spot then nothing for 5 or 6 days then another spot again nothing for 5 or 6 days this is the 5th time in almost 3 weeks that I have started and stopped my period what is going on I have been told that your periods are irregular after child birth but like this my friend said it is normal and my mom said every time that that happened to her she was pregnant again I am not afraid of being pregnant again but I just want to know what to do so if I am I can get to the doctor and get on prenatal vitamins and all that stuff any advice would be much appreciated Thank You

Sorry I was just able to get your question today. Have you been to the doctor yet? You could be pregnant or just have irregular periods because you are still soon after giving birth. If you want to get a free pregnancy test, you can find a local pregnancy resource center and get a free test there. Then you can know and go to the doctor if you are.
