Fertility & Medication: Potential Impact on Conception - Medical Advice

Question
I am 24.  This question may sound silly but I want to make sure.  Hi, I had a question. I just started my monthly menstrual cycle on July 28. Online it says my most fertile days to get pregnant will be Aug. 8 -
Aug. 13. I recently had an ear infection and was
using FLOXIN Otic.  Well yesterday my other ear
started to hurt so I put 10 drops of FLOXIN Otic in
it to see if it would help.  My question is I am
planning on trying to get pregnant right away.  If I do get pregnant this month like between Aug. 8-13 like it says, will the baby be at risk since I used those 10  antibiotic ear drops in my ear today July 30.  I am not going to use anymore because i dont' know how safe they are to use if trying to get pregant, but I wanted to make sure the baby will be safe since I already used 10 drops if I do get pregnant.  I guess I just don't knwo how long it takes for the 10 ear drops to get out of my system and if they could cause harm to liek the unfertile egg before I try to conceive that would cause defects when I do conceieve?  Thanks!

Answer
The ear drops, Floxin otic is safe for use during pregnancy and the ten drops you used will not interfere with conception or a pregnancy. If you have a normal 28 day cycle (from the first day of your period until the first day of your next period) ovulation occurs on cycle day #14. You can ONLY become pregnant if you have sex on cycle day #13, 14, 15, or 16. If your last period started on July 28, then you will ovulate on August 10 and can only become pregnant if you have unprotected sex on August 9,10,11, or 12. If you do, indeed, conceive on one of those days, a pregnancy test will not show a positive result until 14-21 days later. The best time to take a pregnancy test is seven days after you miss your next period. Good Luck.
