Severe Morning Sickness: When to Seek Medical Help
QuestionHi there. I haven't been to a doctor yet. Can't go until after Sept. 1 due to insurance reasons. My question is: I am 8 weeks pregnant with my third child. I have been experiencing some debilitating morning sickness...to the point where I just lay down all day only to get up to get sick. What is considered "too much morning sickness"? What is the point where doctors get concerned about their patient and their babies? I feel as if I haven't eaten anything in days and hardly had anything to drink. I'm worried about the baby as I know this is a critical growth period for her. Please advise. Thank you in advance.

AnswerHello Elizabeth. You need to find a way to get checked out by ultrasound. There is an abnomal condition that causes extreme nausea and vomitting and if that is the case, you will need medical attention right away. It is a little unusual to have this much nausea at 8 weeks. Everything COULD be fine, but I am concerned. All the best- Cheri.
