Post-C-Section Bruising: What to Expect & When to Worry

I have had 4 kids now, this last one a week ago being my first c section... i noticed today a pretty good sized bruise on my abdomen just above my incision... since im new to the c section area, is this normal?? or should i go to the doctor?....

This bruising is very normal.  There can be a lot of trauma to the skin and subdermal tissues during a c-section.  Once they make the incision, they will use retractors to hold it open.  Then, there is a LOT of pulling and tugging on the incision and the area around it to squeeze the baby out.  All of this shoving around can leave you very sore, and can easily cause bruising.
