Understanding Reflexology and Digestive System Pain

Question
Hi Michael,
I am studying reflexology at present and during a class session that a treatment was being peformed on me we were doing the digestive system area. One point that was touched sent a sharp pain on the top of my foot. when I asked the teacher what this meant she said that is your fallopian tube area. I have always had issues with this system of my body. the next day my feet were quite sore. I felt some gurgling in my digestive system which I thought ok that's normal enough after a treatment. Two days after that i started spotting which then turned into a period the problem I have though is that i had only finished my period two weeks ago and shouldn't be having another one. Would the reflexology cause this if so why?

Answer
Thanks for your question regarding Reflexology, Melissa.

Although I used to include Reflexology in my massage practice, I have stopped doing it for the passed 2 years due to the "wear-and-tear" discomfort I was experiencing in my thumb joints.

IMHO, I cannot understand how she could say "your fallopian tube area" unless your ankle(s) were being worked at that time.

However, I would like to refer you to the International Institute of Reflexology's email address in St. Petersburg, FL, iir@tampabay.rr.com, where I'm sure you will receive a very knowledgable and direct answer to your question.  Their website is: http://www.reflexology-usa.net/ .

Hope that helps you.
