Second Pregnancy Loss & Infertility: Seeking Support & Guidance

I have 51/2 yrs old healthy son. I started trying for the second one when he was 3 yrs old, it took a year when I conceived but by 8 weeks I had to terminate my pregnancy since there was no heartbeats of the baby. Again after 4 mos I conceived again but had to terminate the pregnancy after 18wks due to child have trisomy 18 (no chances of survival after birth). It has been 9 mos I have been trying to get pregnant but I am not able to get pregnant. I am 32 yrs and my husband is 36 yrs, absolutely healthy and no smoking/drinking. Plz advice me.

Wow, what an awful history you have. I am sorry. Being that you're 32, I would talk to your doctor to see if he thinks you should go see an infertility doctor. It's not that you can't get pregnant, but maybe there was a reason why you are having these problems. An infertility doctor can ultrasound your uterus and fallopian tubes to make sure everything is okay. He would also check your husband's sperm to make sure his sperm are healthy. You can also opt for infertility to do genetic studies of the embryos before they are transferred to you. Talk to your doctor. Don't let him blow you off. If your health insurance lets you, go to see the infertility doctor. Good luck.
