Skipping Periods on Levlen ED: Safety & Considerations

Hi Diane, I have been taking Levlen ED for about 8 months now and I've heard it's safe to skip the sugar pills and just start a new pack in order to skip your period. I am going on a beach holiday the week my period is due so I'd like to give this a go. I'm just really concerned it won't work and I'll bleed anyway...is this likely? Are there any other risks/advice I should be aware of? Thanks for your help.

Sorry for the delay. I don't know if you have already been on your trip. I would never recommend skipping your period or altering your natural cycle in any way. I don't like the hormones in birth control pills and the long-term and short time possible side effects. So let me know what happened or if you still need advice.
