Skipping Periods on Birth Control: What to Expect & When to Worry
QuestionI have been on the pill for almost three years now. I decided to skip my period and started a new pack on the fourth week. I forgot to take one of the pills until the next day, so I ended up taking two pills in one day. I had sex that weekend and started my period as well, which surprised me. I am now on the third week of that new pack of pills and I'm spotting. Is this ok? I would assume I will start a new period next week, but I've never spotted this much. There isn't a chance I'm pregnant is there?
AnswerYour chances of pregnancy are low since you only missed one pill and you took it the next day. Also, an irregular cycle can be expected after skipping your period with the pill. Don't worry. It will take your period a while to get bakc on track - but don't worry.
