Birth Control Questions & Period Irregularities: What to Know
QuestionHi, I just started a new job recently. I haven't been able to get into see the health nurse to get more birth control pills from her. My friend had a different kind, so I used one of her pack and then when she went into see the health nurse she got extra for me and her. It's allese and I used to be on triphasil, then I had one pack of triquilar, and now I have been on allesse for about 2 months now. I haven't gotten my period at all yet (4 months about), but the one day I had a brownish discharge, and I haven't had intercourse for about 1 year. What's wrong with me?
AnswerNot all brands or kinds of pills are the same. You are not doing yourself any favors by switching back and forth between these several kinds of pills. I don't have a clue whether they are even comparable. I would suggest you quit taking anything and wait while your body sorts itself out and gets normal again.
Then, if you have to go back on the pill (which I never recommend because it doesn't "cure" anything and can cause serious problems in the long run) go to the doctor and get your own prescription and stick with it.
