Ladycomp: Non-Hormonal Fertility Tracking & Family Planning

Question
Hi,

I am 23 and have been married for 1 year now and have had to come stop using the method of birth control that i had settled on(contraceptive injection - also tried the pill). i have recently found out that i have a thyroid problem and the intake of hormones does not seem to bo compatable. i have had a horrible time over the past 2 years. i have also found out that all the women in my family are not able to take hormonal bith control or HRT for menopause - the side effects are too severe.

i was looking for Natural methods and came across the ladycomp contraceptive computer. i have read a great deal but i am finding it very difficult to find women who have used it. i  would like to hear directly from someone who has used it or someone who knows about it to see if it actually works.

i would be very grateful if you could help me on this subject

Many Thanks

Lynsey

Answer
Hi Lynsey,

I am currently using the Ladycomp monitor and I recommend it to everyone considering FAM/NFP. The best thing about the Ladycomp is that it has no side effects and can be used by all, regardless of medical condition and cycle length.

Chosing the Ladycomp as birth control involves periods of abstinence or comdom/diaphragm/sponge use. If you and your partner are okay with that I think you'll love the Ladycomp.

If you would like to learn more about the method on which the Ladycomp device is based I suggest you read the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler. You'll learn all there is to know about FAM and you will see that this is a reliable method of birth control. Since you are interested in what other women think of the Ladycomp also visit http://cat-box.net/helen/ladycomp This woman has used the Ladycomp for a while and seems to be very satisfied with it.

I have used the Ladycomp for six months and have so far not become pregnant after having sex on the safe (green) days. On unsafe (red) days we use condoms.

The Ladycomp involves a bit more work than most hormonal contraceptives. But I think it's a great method which works along with your body instead of manipulating it with either foreign devices (e.g. IUD) or hormones.

If I have failed to answer all your questions, please do ask for a follow-up.
