Birth Control for Minors: Parental Consent & Privacy Rights

I'm 16 and I want to start Birth Control, but my mom doesn't think it's a good idea. Can I get Birth Control from a clinic in my area without her knowing? I just want to make every precaution possible.

In general, a minor can consent to birth control without the consent of her parents.  Michigan apparently has no specific laws regarding this, but under federal laws, parents have no constitutional right to be informed about minors obtaining birth control.  To be sure, it might be best to call the clinic you would go to ahead and ask them if they give birth control to minors without parental consent.  You're wise to take precautions.
