Delayed Periods: Causes, Risks & What to Do - Expert Advice

Dear Soctor,

My Age is 31 Yrs and I am 80 Kgs My height is 5 Ft mother of 2 daughters Normal Delievry.I am a working women.

Doctor Every Month My periods delay by 5 to 7 days but This month It has delayed by 10 days.

We are taking Precaution for birth control As we dont want 3 child. But last 15 days we dint take any precaution but After every intercourse I took an emergency Contraception I-Pill

Is there any chance of getting pregnant.

If i am not pregnant what would be the reason of delay in periods every month. Also the periods last for only 2 days before i got my periods for 5 days. My Cycle is getting disturbed delayed after by 2nd baby she is now 2 yrs old I have Just 10 days back left with her feeding on my brest milk.


Please advice.

Dear Sakina, Yes, there is chance of pregnancy. Even if you take i-pill, no birth control method is 100% safe in preventing pregnancy. Also, I don't recommend taking i-pill every time you have intercourse. This can be dangerous and not recommended. I can't tell you what would be the reason of delay in periods.
