Irregular Periods After NuvaRing: Ovulation Concerns & When to See a Doctor
QuestionI went off the NuvaRing about 10 months ago. My periods stayed fairly normal for the first few months after coming off. Then around December my periods started coming about every 50 days and now they are about 60 days apart. Should I be worried they are getting farther apart and not closer? I get my symptoms every 30 days but don't get my period until 30 days after the symptoms (day 60). Should I be worried that I'm not ovulating? Should I go see my Gyno soon or wait until this summer for my normal checkup? I'm only 26. My periods, before bc, were fairly predictable. Usually +-3 days from each other, usually about every 28 days. I know it's not stress related and I know I'm not pregnant. Any advice? Thanks!
AnswerHello,
Since it's been 10 months since you went off the NuvaRing, you might want to call your doctor for an earlier visit to see what's going on. It sounds like you're not ovulating normally if periods are two months apart. They might want to do some bloodwork and see if everything is OK.
