Post-D&C Bleeding and Menstruation: A Patient's Experience & Concerns
QuestionHI Danielle, this is first time i m writing to you. i have gone through a very tough period as i was a subject to D n C thrice in short span of one week. The stupid doctor (sorry but i must say him stupid) didnt perform the first D n c well (19 dec). i was in my 6th week at that time. again i started blleding just after two days and the same doc. performed another D n C again (22 dec). but the bleeding didnt stopped completely and i recieved a final D n C by some another doc on 24 Dec. and after my final fifth ultrasound it was revealed that my uterus is now misplaced i. e. has become inverted.
This is all that happened to me . now after 1 month of all this, i started pain in my lower abdominal region which has increased gradually from yesterday night(18 jan, 2009).till this time (19 jan, 19:20), there are not any symptom of my periods starting again (no bleeding yet) but only experiencing pain which has increased gradually to worse. it comes with cramps.
kindly tell me what is going on with me. plz help me
i dont want a d n c again. kindly plz tell me what is the possible origin for this pain.

I'm sorry you had to go through such an ordeal. It can take 6-8 weeks for your period to start again, possibly a little longer. For the pain, it's best you call or see your doctor. It's unlikely they'll need to do another procedure. Maybe a pelvic exam, but after several procedures there should be no need for another one. The pain can be caused by various things. It could be bacteria from a sexually transmitted infection that was there and was able to easily get inside because of the dilation of the cervix, or another type of infection. Or it's a negative effect of the procedures, so it's best to see your doctor to make sure everything is ok.
