QuestionI just had a baby on 5-1-07. I had a vaginal delivery and am breastfeeding. When he was 6 weeks old I had what I thought was my 1st period, but I only had old(brownish)blood. This lasted about 5 days, is this normal?
AnswerIt is very likely that this bleeding you had was actually a continuation of your lochia, rather than a new period. If your lochia had stopped very recently (within the previous week or two), and especially if you were very active, doing more than your body may have been ready for, then it is common for the lochia to start back up again.
