Understanding Pregnancy Risks & Heart Conditions: A Concerned Partner's Questions

My girlfriend found out she was pregnant December30 of last year.She had to have a abortion cuz doctors were telling her she cant have kids cuz she or the baby might have died.well she had the abortion done in Feb. I beleive it was.Well I have 2 questions:one is can a heart problem cause u not to have a baby??? I dont know what its called but she was born with One heart vavle instead of 2 and she has had 6 heart operations so far in her life and she's only 19.My second question is When a woman has a abortion a few months after is it normal for some...The best way to describe is it sandish red stuff come out of her vagina-IS this normal or what could it be???? anything u can tell me will be of much help.Thank you...

To your first question, yes, you could definitely have major pregnancy complications if you have a heart problem. I'm sure her doctor gave her sound advice, but if you're asking because you are worried that she might never be able to have kids, she should talk to a specialist.

As to your second question, it *could* just be spotting - but "sandish" doesn't sound good to me. She should definitely go back to the clinic for a follow-up appointment.

Encourage her to make an appointment as soon as possible.
