Is My 27-Month-Old Daughter's Weight a Concern? - Expert Advice

Question
I have 2 questions....unrelated to each other.  The first is in regard to weight.  My daughter is 27 months old.  She still only weighs 20 lbs. She hovers between 19 and 21.  At her last well baby checkup, she was 20 lbs.  She is very active, so I just attribute it to that and the fact that both my husband and I were toothpicks growing up.  I am just concerned I guess because she doesn't seem to gain any weight.  She has recently turned into a picky eater.  She didn't use to be.  So, I am worried she is not getting enough to eat.  I give her a Flinstones vitamin because I am concerned she is not getting enough nutrition.  Should I be really concerned about her weight for her age?
Second question is in regard to her private area.  At around 9 months, we had noticed that her vaginal opening was closed.  It had like a paper thin covering that had developed.  I have been talking with her doctor at every well baby exam since we noticed it.  He has just told us to wait it out....as she gets more active it will work itself back open.  She is now 2, and the paper thin covering has gotten a little thicker.  Back when we first noticed it, I had done some research and found out that there was a cream that could be applied to help it open up.  I was kind of hoping we would go that route.  Because now that she is getting older, I don't want to have to do a surgery and have her associate pain with that area.  As she gets older she understands more of whats going on.  Any suggestions on this?

Answer
The weight issue.... she should gradually gain weight at this age... if she isn't, then she needs a nutritional and metabolic evaluation.

The covering is the hymen... at this point, leave it alone, as long as there is no problem urinating, that will probably take care of itself...
